Work As Usual

Myrddin and Merlin made their way to work but before walking into the building, Myrddin spoke to Merlin “I have to tell you something, it concerns Arthur.”

Merlin turns his attention to his mother then says “what is it mother?”

Myrddin then tells him “While Guinevere was able to recover Arthur’s DNA sample, we will not be able to keep it a secret for long. The reason is, there are individuals higher up in the hospital that currently work for Warren Pierce, and once they learn of His DNA results, Warren will send people to kill Arthur.”

Merlin sternly looks to his mother and nods in his understanding.

Myrddin then reminds Merlin that Arthur has no idea who he is, and that the life he currently has is the only one he knows.

Merlin smirks and says “Then it will be up to us to try and remind Him of who he is.”

Then the two begin their first day at work.

Merlin still adapting to his new environment, is fascinated by all the new technology, Monitors that analyze genetic samples and digital case files. Everything was new, and slightly overwhelming. In that moment Merlin asked the Lord for help and understanding.

Just as quickly God answered “My child, do not fear all that you see around you, and do not be anxious about the things you do not understand. For I will give you all that you need.”

In that moment Merlin was instantly filled with the knowledge of how to use every piece of technology, and the ability to do the Job he was given.

Merlin smiled, knowing all he needed to know. “Well then, time to get to work.”

Minutes later, Merlin received a call about a homicide nearby, and so he went to check it out.
