Shadow Brotherhood

As Myrddin and Merlin emerged from their rift, Merlin began looking around, trying to see where they were. Myrddin explained, "this place is a sanctum." "One that houses a secret group of philosophers, scientists, and many of the world' elitists." Merlin smiled, "I do not understand, what is wrong about this?"

As Merlin began looking around, he then took notice of a portrait that hung above the fireplace mantle. As Merlin slowly approached the painting, a cold chill went up his spine, and His heart began sink to his feet. The portrait of Camelot' fallen enemy, Vortigern hanging before him.

Merlin turned to His mother, "what is this!? Why would you show me this!?" "Vortigern is dead and lost to history, why does his image hang in this place?" Myrddin then looked to her son, and explained "This place was founded by a man named Sir Warren, the long lost son of Vortigern." This place belongs to a group known to a select few as the Shadow Brotherhood."

Still confused Merlin asked "What does this have to do with me, Mother?" Myrddin then explained "In your boredom, you have created this group, while you slumbered, your misguided spirit-man shared visions and ideas with Warren, as you were drawn to his wealth and power." "And as you shared your corrupted philosophies with Warren, you corrupted Him as well." "As time progressed your ideals were shared and inspired this group into fruition. Forming a society of greed, power and corruption."

Merlin feeling the pain and regret of what He had inadvertently created, asked his mother "What have I done? How can I undo this Mother?!""There must be a way to undo the damage I have done."

Myrddin placed her hand on Merlin' shoulder, "I am sorry my child, but this is not something you can undo, but you can learn from this mistake and learn to live with it." "But do not worry son, when the time comes God will undo the damage you have done and the brotherhood will be disbanded, undoing this aberration, you have created." Myrddin then told Merlin "But heed my warning, boredom is the result of ungratefulness, which quickly leads to arrogance."

Merlin nodded acknowledging Her statement as truth.
