Fate

As Merlin gathers his bearings, he then asks "But mother, how is that the son of Vortigern has found himself in this place in time? Surely He is a descendant!?"

Myrddin explains, "The Lord sent me to bring Him here, with the purpose of helping Him escape the legacy of His father and the pressure of His mother' will."

Myrddin then reflected on the events that transpired...

Searching for what seemed like an eternity for King Arthur' return, finding only darkness and imitations, Myrddin was suddenly interrupted by the Lord as He led her back to the Monastery, the Lord then spoke to Myrddin "My child, I have led you here for a purpose, a young boy tormented by the sins of His father and the expectations of His mother, has cried out for help. I have heard His cry. For this reason I have brought you to Him, you will take this child to another time, where He can face His own destiny."

Myrddin understood what she was meant to do and said "I will do as you ask Lord, but who is this child you speak of? Where is he?"

The Lord answered "The child I speak of is the only child of King Vortigern, and the young woman you rescued from His dungeon."

Myrddin bewildered by the Lord' command, asks "But Lord, surely His mother would want to raise her child on her own? She does serve you."

But The Lord replied "There are certain events in time where I have selected Vortigern' son to bring a balance to the era that Merlin will create in the future." Myrddin then understood what she had to do and spoke to young mother, explaining to Her the Lord' plans for Her child. While the boy's mother understood what had to be done, she asked why she could not go with Him. Myrddin explained to Her "Your child must live His life according to the Lord' will, and if you are there, your will can and will get in the way of that."

The young mother nodded and said, "will my son have a good family to care for Him?"

Myrddin smiled "Your child will be raised by nobility and will have a blessed life."

The young mother then kissed the forehead of her child and handed Him over to Myrddin, placing Her trust in the Lord.

Myrddin then allowed the Lord to lead Her to where she was to take the child, giving the boy to a noble family that the Lord chose, one that prayed for a child of their own, answering their prayers.

As Myrddin stopped reflecting on everything that happened she opened a breach and said to Merlin, "I will see you soon son, and always remember to follow the will of the Lord, not your own. For only He knows all, after all He is the one true Oracle." Myrddin then walked through the rift, closing it behind her.

Merlin then shook his head and thought himself "what have I done?"
